Britt Ford has been fascinated with the way her body moves long before dance class became her daily practice. She engaged in formal dance training in Ballet, Jazz, and Modern for many years before going to college. At CU Boulder she continued formal training in the above forms but was also introduced to African, House, Hip Hop, and dance theory. While the academic nature of her studies did intellectualize her relationship with dance, it also led her to investigate all the ways dance exists in her life. Britt was lucky enough to move with and be pushed by some incredible artists including Erika Randall, Donna Mejia, Michele Ellsworth, Gesel Mason and Rennie Harris. The Department of Theater and Dance at CU Boulder has a strong commitment to bringing in a variety of guest artists; because of this Britt was able to work with former Batsheva Dancer Uri Shaffir, Chris Aiken and Angie Hauser, Teena Marie Custer, and Paige Cunningham Caldarella. Each of these residencies resulted in performance in which Britt displayed technical control and prowess in a huge variety of forms. Britt graduated CU Boulder with BFA in Dance and a BA in English.
